Initial situation & task
Schwingshandl realised an automated lid handling system for a supplier to the automotive industry. Individual lids had to be removed from a stack and placed precisely onto containers. Due to the relatively large distance between the lid stack and the lid position, high dynamics, accuracy and process reliability were required. At the same time, the containers had to be replenished with high performance and exact positioning.
Realisation
Schwingshandl developed a highly dynamic handling concept based on a gantry axis with pneumatic suction pads. The gantry axis bridges the distance between the lid stack and the container efficiently and precisely.
Toothed belt conveyors with integrated centring devices are used to transport the containers, ensuring exact positioning for the lid placement process.
