Initial situation & task
Schwingshandl implemented a depalletising system including destacking for particularly difficult containers for a customer in the retail sector. In the incoming goods department, palletised containers were to be depalletised and further processed gently, reliably and with high performance.
Realisation
The containers are first depalletised using a pneumatic, four-sided depalletiser. Due to the challenging container geometry, Schwingshandl developed a so-called grapper.
This involves a modular belt “creeping” under the palletised goods in a controlled relative movement, while the empty pallet is pushed out at the same time. By superimposing the movement sequences, a very high level of process reliability is achieved at a high output.
The depalletised stacks are then fed to a destacking machine from bottom to top and placed directly into trays.
Components used
- Four-sided pneumatic depalletiser with grapper function
- Modular belt and chain conveyors
- Destacking machine from bottom to top including tray loading
Added value
- Very gentle depalletising of difficult containers
- High performance through superimposed motion sequences
- Reliable further processing in incoming goods
- Customised solution for demanding containers
This video provides insight into part of the overall system and does not show all areas and functions in detail.
