Initial situation & task
Schwingshandl implemented a fully automated shuttle warehouse including conveyor technology, lifters and robot feeders for a tyre manufacturer in Hungary.
After the production process, tyres with different dimensions were to be efficiently stored temporarily and retrieved as required. The aim was to create a high-performance, scalable storage system with high dynamics and a reliable connection to downstream processes.
Realisation
Schwingshandl developed and supplied a shuttle warehouse with throughfeed channels, consisting of eight inbound and eight outbound shuttles in a single-level design. The travel drive of the shuttles was designed as a stationary toothed belt drive and enables high travelling speeds with precise positioning.
The individual storage levels are supplied via seven high-performance toothed belt lifters, which reliably transfer the tyres to the respective shuttles. In addition, four robot feed lines were implemented to provide the tyres for downstream processes.
The system was supplemented with pallet conveyor technology and fully integrated into the material flow.
