Initial situation & task
A mechanical engineering company uses special trolleys that also serve as order picking trolleys. An economical, ergonomic and safe solution was to be realised for the supply and disposal of two production levels. The aim was to organise the transfer of the trolleys efficiently and at the same time avoid the use of additional lifting devices.
Realisation
Schwingshandl developed an automation solution based on inclined chain conveyors for loading and unloading the trolleys. This made it possible to dispense with separate lifting devices, as the transfer of the trolleys takes place at an ergonomic standard height.
The connection to the two production levels is realised via single mast lifters with chain lift, which ensure safe and reliable vertical conveying.
Components used
- Conveyor technology based on chain conveyors
- Feeding and discharge by means of inclined chain conveyors
- Single mast lift with chain lift
Added value
- Ergonomic and safe transfer of the trolleys
- No need for additional lifting devices
- Economical solution for multi-storey production areas
- Reliable and low-maintenance operation
